Welcome to the Lordsbridge Team
Monthly Newsletter
May 2023
Holy God, you are the beginning and the end,
the source of all that is
and the hope for all that is to come.
You hold all things together
and everything that is exists under your shadow.
Shape our world, our communities and our lives
by this conviction.
By your grace and mercy made known in Jesus
and emboldened by your Spirit,
help us to bear witness to all that we know
and experience of you. Amen
From the Mothers’ Union Thy Kingdom Come 2023 Midday Prayers
Thy Kingdom Come 2023 will take place from 18th-28th May and is a call for Christians across the world to pray for more people to know Jesus. In the Lordsbridge Team, we mark this with our Annual Pilgrimage. We would love to invite you to join us for some or all of this special event on Friday 26th May. Please see the end of the page for further details.

Everyone is welcome.

St Mary’s Church, Hardwick
The PCC of St Mary’s Hardwick have had to take the difficult decision to shut the church for a time, due to safety reasons. A large section of plaster fell from the ceiling of the building and concerns about further falls have led to the decision to close temporarily. Substantial repairs are required to the internal fabric of the church and money will need to be raised to make this possible.
In the meantime, Sunday services will be relocated to the church’s hall (The Cabin) and weddings and funerals will be spread across the other team churches. Please pray for the PCC and congregation of St Mary’s, as they raise the funds for this vital work and restore their church building for use.

Do you have a question about faith, life or God that you’d like us to try and answer? Send your questions through to David Newton (davidnewton@lordsbridge.org) and we will pick three to answer in a short podcast published on our website. No question too big or too small!

Choral Evensong to mark
the King’s Coronation
7th May, 5.30pm, Dry Drayton Church
This May we will be celebrating our new King’s coronation. For many of us, this moment in our nation’s history will be our first experience of such an occasion. At its centre will be a Christian service in which His Majesty will be anointed by the Archbishop of Canterbury as King. It is a ceremony rooted in longstanding tradition and Christian symbolism. Part of every Christian’s life is the commitment to a life of service to God and to one another; a commitment the King has exemplified throughout his life.
At St Peter and St Paul’s Dry Drayton we will be celebrating this historic occasion with a special Choral Evensong on Sunday 7 May at 5:30pm. All are welcome to join us, people of all faiths or none, as we pray for the King and our nation as we start a new chapter in our history. And as we celebrate, let us give thanks to God, for His steadfast love and faithfulness.
