August Monthly Newsletter

Welcome to the Lordsbridge Team

Monthly Newsletter

August 2023

Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth.
Worship the Lord with gladness;
come into his presence with singing.
Know that the Lord is God.
It is he that made us, and we are his;
we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
Enter his gates with thanksgiving,
and his courts with praise.
Give thanks to him, bless his name.
For the Lord is good;
his steadfast love endures for ever,
and his faithfulness to all generations.
Psalm 100 (NRSV)

Defibrillator Training

The Leys School has very kindly offered to provide some Defibrillator Training for anyone in the Lordsbridge Team parishes who would find this helpful. This will be taking place on Friday 15th September at 1.30pm. If you are interested in attending, please contact Becca (rebeccaherrick@lordsbridge.org) by 15th August to book your place.

Summer Hamper Schemes

Some of our churches partner with their local primary school to offer weekly food hampers (or supermarket vouchers) to families who might appreciate some help through the holidays. If you would like to donate to these schemes, please see the links below:

Celebration of Ministry

All Saints’ Church, Haslingfield recently held a tea party in honour of Gladys Gott, who has retired as a Licensed Lay Minister (Reader) after serving the parish for many years. It was wonderful to celebrate with Gladys, and her family, her long and faithful ministry to the church.

Spotlight on…. The Benefice of the Lordsbridge Team

The Benefice of the Lordsbridge Team consists of eleven parishes to the West of Cambridge. Details about each of the parishes, as well as links to their websites, can be found on our churches page. Why not explore the different websites to find out what’s going on in the other parishes across the team?

The Team exists to support and enable mission and ministry of the parishes. We’ve recently updated our “Life and Vision” page to give more information about what that means. Being part of a Team enables the parishes to do things together they could not do on their own (like employ an administrator); it enables collaboration, support and partnership.
