February Newsletter

Lent begins on 14th February, with Team Ash Wednesday services hosted by Dry Drayton and Toft (see below for further details). During Lent the Lordsbridge podcast will be releasing a prayer a day for you to listen to and reflect on. Several churches across the team will also be hosting Lent Groups – do speak to your Team Vicar for further information about these.

In addition to this, we will be running a Lent Team Quiet Morning on Saturday 2nd March, 10.00am – 12.30pm at Dry Drayton Church. Everyone is very welcome to attend!

Thanks to the generous contributions and legacies from villagers and from our congregation, All
Saints’ Church is able to start the first phase of high level restoration work in the Nave. This means that Sunday services will take place in the chancel and sadly the church will not be open to the public from January 8th until Easter. The North porch will be open for private prayer. Entrance to the chancel at other times can be prearranged with the vicar or the churchwardens if they are available.

WCCYM will be hosting a Fundraising Quiz on Saturday 10th February in Cambourne Church. Gather your team of (up to) six people and see if you can defeat the quiz masters. It is £5 per person and you are welcome to bring your own snacks and drinks, but we will have some non-alcoholic drinks and snacks available on the evening. Doors open at 7.45pm for a prompt 8pm start. Book now by clicking here.

Dr Nicholas Branson will be giving an illustrated talk on his two visits to Ethiopia to see the rock-carved churches and wildlife, and to explore the location of the Ark of the Covenant. The talk will be followed by tea and cakes. There is no charge for admission but voluntary donations will be given to the Disasters Emergency Committee.

The Team Council AGM will take place on Thursday 15th February, 7.30pm at The Cabin, Hardwick. This meeting is open to everyone who lives in the parishes in the Team area. Please come along and hear news from across the parishes in the Team, as well as to hear about the work done centrally to help support and enable the mission and ministry of the parishes.
