There is lots going on across the Team this Advent and Christmas. For details of our events and services, please see our website here.

Each week during Advent, there will also be an advent reflection posted on our website. Use these to take a moment to pause, be still and spend time with God.

On Sunday 1st December, the Church in Toft celebrates 21 years of being a Local Ecumenical Project (LEP). What’s an LEP? A Local Ecumenical Partnership is a formal partnership between different Christian denominations in one place. In Toft the Methodist Chapel and St Andrew’s (the Church of England parish church) have been formally working together for 21 years, working and worshipping together across the village. There will be a service of celebration at 11.00am on 1st December at Toft Methodist Church.

On Friday 6th December, WCCYM will be holding their annual Christmas Party at Comberton Baptist Church, running from 6pm to 9pm. There will be a cost of £5 per person and anyone in school years 7 to 13 is welcome. To book, click here.

WCCYM will be facilitating a youth-led Carol Service on Monday 16th December at St Andrew’s Church, Caxton, from 6.30pm until 8pm. This will be a great opportunity to see all the different groups we run come together to play their part in a bigger event.
To book your young person into the event please follow this link.

West Cambridge Christian Youth Ministries (WCCYM) work across our area to reach out to the young people in our churches and schools. For further information about this important ministry, see their website here.

The deadline for applications for the Team Rector vacancy is Friday 29th November. Please be praying for those who might apply and for the appointment process, as well as the Team during the continued vacancy.

We are looking for someone to take on the organisation of the Lordsbridge Team Pilgrimage – the walk to all the churches in the Team in one day. This traditionally takes place on a day during the ‘Thy Kingdom Come’ period between Ascension Day and Pentecost (next year 29th May to 8th June). We would be open to someone who would like to take this on choosing the day and the format. If you are interested or would like to find out more, please get in touch with Becca Herrick (rebeccaherrick@lordsbridge.org).

This year, the Lordsbridge Team is delighted to welcome three ordinands on placement with us – Alistair, Charlotte and Megan – training at Ridley Hall and Westcott House. Over the next few months we are introducing our ordinands in their own words. This month we introduce you to Charlotte Kalinsky and welcome her to the Team!

“Hello to you all! My name is Charlotte. My husband David and I have recently moved from Haverhill to Cambridge, and we are living at Westcott House. I am studying at Westcott house for three years on a Durham Common Awards course with integrating theological studies and practical training in placements, which will teach and form my ministry to be a priest in the Church of England.

David and I have been together for 10 years and married for 7 years. We have a budgie called Sky, who his enjoying his new home at Westcott.

My placement churches are Hardwick, Dry Drayton and Caldecote.

I don’t have a lot of experience with rural ministry and churches. I am looking forward to learning all about rural ministry and learning new things which I haven’t done before; excited to experience different services and how each church connects to the wider community. I am really enjoying Wild Church and Forest Church, exploring God’s creation. I am looking forward to meeting you all and getting to know you if I haven’t already. Thank you to you all for warmly welcoming me, I feel so blessed to be worshipping alongside you all.”
