The Big WCCYM Fundraiser

The Big WCCYM Fundraiser is taking place on Saturday 21st September, raising funds for this important youthwork organisation who work with churches and schools in our area. Please consider supporting them in any way you can!
Susie will be leading a 24 mile walk from Hardwick to Ely Cathedral and we are looking for anyone who is willing to join her for this to get in contact (susie@wccym.org). This will take all day and is for those who are up for the endurance challenge. To sponsor Susie, please visit her fundraising page.
Nick will be hosting a Cycling and Rowing challenge in Comberton Leisure throughout the day too. This is designed for people to drop in when able for an hour or so throughout the day and add towards a culminative total distance. To sponsor Nick, please visit his fundraising page.
Everyone who offers to join Susie or Nick will be given their own fundraising page to share with friends and family to raise their own personal target for WCCYM. To join us for either event, contact susie@wccym.org.
Alongside this our Team Curate, Rev’d Barnabas, will be completing a “St Peter’s 101”: riding his bicycle from St Peter’s Church, Coton to St Peter’s Cathedral, Peterborough, and back via Ely Cathedral to complete 101 miles in one day. Your sponsorship will spur him on to complete the ride and will be shared equally between WCCYM and St Peter’s Coton to continue the great work already taking place in our communities. Please give generously! To sponsor Barnabas, please visit his fundraising page.

Safeguarding Training

At the beginning of August a small group gathered at the Cabin in Hardwick to take part in some basic safeguarding training. It was an informative morning and gave some of our wonderful volunteers the opportunity to learn more about how to support the vulnerable amongst us.
We hope to run another course in the Autumn. If you would be interested in attending or finding out more, do get in touch with our Team Administrator, Becca (rebeccaherrick@lordsbridge.org).

Eco Church Award
During the Summer, Caldecote Church joined the A Rocha Eco Church scheme, and are very excited to announce that we have achieved a Bronze Award! We work very hard with very limited resources and a small congregation to best preserve the beautiful Church and its lovely rural setting, and are delighted to receive this award in recognition of our work. For more information about this achievement, see Caldecote Church’s website.
Congratulations Caldecote Church!
