It has been a joy to celebrate Harvest in churches and schools across the Lordsbridge Team. Thank you to all those who have decorated churches, donated food for the food bank and provided food for Harvest meals!

Can you help? Our Lordsbridge Online community are looking for people to help host the Zoom meeting on a Sunday morning. This service is a vital part of our Sunday morning provision, and is key to providing worship for those who are unable to access services in other ways. We are looking for people who would feel confident in running a Zoom session, including sharing screens and playing audio and video files. You would not be required to lead or preach in the service, simply to manage the technology. To find out more, or offer your help, please could you get in touch with Sue Nelms (nelmsmissus@gmail.com).

We are advertising again for the Team Rector vacancy, in the hope of interviews taking place in early January. Details can be found on our website here. Please continue to pray for the recruitment process; for potential applicants; for the Team and particularly for the vacant parishes of Comberton and Toft.

This year, the Lordsbridge Team is delighted to welcome three ordinands on placement with us – Alistair, Charlotte and Megan – training at Ridley Hall and Westcott House. Over the next few months we will be introducing our ordinands in their own words. Firstly, we welcome Alistair Barry to the Team!

“Hi, my name is Alistair and along with my wife and our daughter, we’ve recently moved to Comberton from north Guildford. I’m studying at Ridley Hall for two years on a course called a ‘Common Awards Diploma’. This is a course focused particularly on everything needed for ministry in the Church of England.

My wife, Elodie, and I have been married for about eight years now, and our daughter, who is four has just started reception at Barton CofE primary school.

I’m attached mainly to the Eversden parishes on Sunday mornings, but am also attached to the ‘Forest Church’ an ‘Wild Church’ sessions when they happen on Sunday afternoons.

I’ve not got much experience of rural, or even semi-rural ministry, so really looking forward to seeing how things happen in this sort of setting, as well as how the church(es) engage with those outside of herself. I’m also just looking forward to learning about new things generally, whether that’s different ways of doing church to what I’m used to, or new communities of different people. I look forward to meeting you if we haven’t met already.”

We are delighted to announce that on 15th October, Rev’d Chris Westgarth was licensed to the Lordsbridge Team as an Associate Priest. Congratulations Chris!
