Join Coton Praise on the 1st Sunday of each month, 11.00am at Coton Primary School. This month (2nd March) we will will be exploring the traditions of carnival with all-age craft, songs and reflections. Everyone is welcome, whatever age, stage or tradition!

Each week during Lent there will be a reflection available on our website. Also instead of a quiet morning this year, why not try our pilgrimage at home? This is available on our website here.

There are various Lent Groups running across the Team, beginning this month. Everyone is welcome to attend, from whichever parish you live in!

Barton – “Spot the Difference”: Exploring some of the ways being a Christian makes a difference to people’s lives. Wednesdays, 7.30pm, beginning on 12th March for five sessions. Contact Sally for more details: sdaggianti@gmail.com

A highlight of the WCCYM year – the WCCYM weekend returns! 48hrs of intense fun, faith-filled conversations and gunge!

Running from Friday 21st to Sunday 23rd March, we will be heading to Burwell House once again. This will be for anyone in school years 7 to 13 and will be a great opportunity to explore the Christian faith in a deeper way, or even exploring it for the first time.

Mothering Sunday falls on Sunday 30th March this year. Although it is a fifth Sunday, the parishes have opted to celebrate with their own services rather than with a Team service, so please check your parish newsletter/website or A Church Near You page for service details. Service details will also be available on the Lordsbridge website nearer the time.

Did you know that alongside our wonderful Sunday morning online community, we offer several opportunities during the week to pray together online? Hosted by various people from churches across the Team, these online sessions are a great way to meet new people, share with others and pray together. There’s no requirement to attend every week. Just ‘drop in’ when you can – everyone is welcome. Why not give one a try during Lent?

We will be interviewing for the Team Rector post on Wednesday 26th March. Please hold the panel and candidates in your prayers.

After serving in the role for over a year, at the Team Council AGM, Rev’d Claire Robertson stepped down as Acting Team Rector. She will be continuing on in her role as Team Vicar for her parishes. We would like to take this opportunity to thank Claire very much for all that she has done for the Team during this time of interregnum. Rev’d Clare Coates is taking on the role as Acting Team Rector for the rest of the vacancy.

This month, couples who will be marrying across the Team this year will be meeting together for their marriage preparation session. Couples meet with the Team Vicars to think about what married life might look like for them and key issues for a healthy marriage, such as communication. It’s an important part of preparing our couples for their lifelong commitment to each other beyond the wedding day. Please do pray for those getting married at churches across the Team this year.

If you or someone you know is interested in getting married in the Lordsbridge Team, please contact our Team Administrator, Becca (rebeccaherrick@lordsbridge.org) to find out more.

On 9th February, PCC members and parishioners from St Peter’s, Barton with their vicar, Rev’d Claire, hosted a scrumptious thank you lunch at the village Pavilion for John Boocock, David Hodge and the team of volunteers who recently renovated the church floor.

In June 2024 the quinquennial report on church fabric at St Peter’s referenced a need to refurbish the wood block floor at the west end of the nave. The estimated cost was very high, so a group of local volunteers led by John and David agreed to undertake the work for a much lower price. Gifts from locals, sale of signed blocks for the floor, as well as a grant from the Barton Village Trust covered the cost of the work, whilst the volunteers donated their time for free. It was wonderful to see local parishioners joining together to support their community and their church in this way. Many thanks to all those who were involved!

GenR8 is a Christian charity that works alongside churches and schools offering resources for prayer spaces in schools, including Barton school.

A team from GenR8 used St Peter’s Church on Friday 7th February. The church was filled with interactive prayer spaces and throughout the day, children and staff from the school visited the church in groups. It was lovely to see the classes coming into church, they were so engaged and at the end of the school day, the children bought their parents in to see what had been going on – the church was packed and buzzing – what a joy!
