Safeguarding

The Lordsbridge Team follow the House of Bishops’ ‘Promoting a Safer Church’ policy and accompanying procedures. All activities and events that are conducted in the name of the Lordsbridge Team will pay due regard to this policy and accompanying procedures.

However, most events and activities that take place within the Lordsbridge Team come under the authority of a particular PCC and it is the responsibility of each PCC to ensure all activities and events follow the House of Bishops’ policy and procedures. Each PCC:

  • has adopted the House of Bishops’ policy
  • is committed to following the House of Bishops’ policy and accompanying procedures
  • has appointed a Parish Safeguarding Officer (PSO)
  • displays contact details of the PSO, and local leaders, where to get help with safeguarding issues

To contact the Diocese of Ely Safeguarding Office regarding a safeguarding concern, please phone 01353 652747.

November 2025: Safeguarding Survey

A message and survey from Bishop Dagmar

In February 2026, a full independent audit is going to be completed to understand where we are as a Diocese and Cathedral in respect of Safeguarding. As part of this audit, INEQE, the company carrying out the audit are asking for as many people to contribute as possible. They have reated surveys for people to complete and the link to these are below. It is so important that anyone who is part of our Diocese, in whatever capacity, has the opportunity to have their say and have their voice heard as part of this process. The more voices that INEQE can hear, the more they will be able to understand where we are on our journey and what we still need to do to ensure everyone in our Church community is kept safe. Please can I urge you all to complete the Survey. It is confidential and anonymous so you can say whatever you feel and it will only be used to inform INEQE’s final report. The surveys are now open and will close on 2nd December.

If you have any questions about the Audit, please email ineqe.audit@elydiocese.org.

Sarah Kennedy, Head of Safeguarding in our Diocese, and I really appreciate your support with this.

Good wishes
